Green Tea Extract and Vigor Boost™
Green tea extract is a concentrated form of green tea leaves, rich in plant compounds called catechins.
In brief
- Made from Camellia sinensis leaves
- Rich in catechins such as EGCG
- Naturally holds a little caffeine
- One of nine named ingredients
What it is
Green tea comes from the leaves of Camellia sinensis, the same plant that gives black and oolong tea. Green tea leaves are dried gently, so they keep a lot of natural plant compounds called catechins, with a famous one named EGCG. An extract concentrates those compounds into a small amount. Green tea also carries a little natural caffeine and an amino acid called theanine.
Where it comes from
Tea gardens in China, Japan and India supply most of the world's green tea. Makers steep or process the leaves in a liquid, then dry that liquid into a powder with a steady strength.
Why it is in Vigor Boost
Vigor Boost lists green tea extract fifth, right before caffeine.* Your Vigor Boost label shows the combined blend of 82 mg per gummy, which includes this ingredient. Green Tea and Caffeine compares it with a real cup of tea.
